About

About the species

Spider monkeys are New World monkeys from South America. We have both Black and Brown spider monkeys here. Their tails are prehensile and act as a fifth limb when feeding or moving through the trees.

They are brachiators, swinging hand over hand. In the wild, females breed once every two to five years and have a single baby. They forage in subgroups of five or six and gather in larger congregations of 30 or more.

Our named individuals are JonJon and Lille, who you can meet on a Meet & Greet experience.
